Who I Am
I'm M Dougherty, a nonbinary artist and researcher working at the intersection of scent, sensory design, and science fiction. My work blurs the boundaries between art and science, using olfaction as a medium to explore humanity, psychophysics, and speculative futures.
With a background in human-computer interaction and creative technology, I’m deeply passionate about educating others around olfaction and promoting what I call olfactory literacy—the ability to recognize, understand, and communicate scent information.
My work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, and I continue to explore how scent can be harnessed to unlock new forms of creative expression and well-being.
